AI at work
Shopkeepers
A customer from Pune asks at 11pm whether the shawl is real Pashmina and whether you ship. A visitor leaves a review in English you need to answer well. That is where AI helps a shop: the words around the sale. What you sell, and every promise you make about it, stays yours.
WhatsApp Business Tutorial in Hindi
My Blog Mantra (Parveender)
A step-by-step setup of the tools most shops never switch on: a catalogue, labels for customers, a greeting and away messages, quick replies (16 minutes).
Three tools to learn first
Everyday tools from Google, on the phone you already have. Learn these three and most of this page follows.
Gemini Notebook
formerly NotebookLM
Write a few lines on each piece you sell — maker, material, size, price, GI label or not — and upload them as one notebook. Ask for every product description at once, a price list, and an infographic or slide deck for Instagram, all from your own facts.

with Canvas
In Canvas, ask for a one-page catalogue or a set of slides about your craft for visitors; ask out loud for a reply in Hindi.

Three things to try this week
- 1
Your whole catalogue from one notebook
Write a few true lines on each piece — maker, material, size, how long it took, price, GI-labelled or not — and upload them to Gemini Notebook. Now every description, price list and post comes from your facts.
In the notebook chat: For each product, write a 60-word description for a tourist in warm, simple English, using only these notes. Do not add claims about purity, quality or certification that are not in the notes. Then make a price list in English and Hindi. Then in Studio: Infographic → one image about how a Sozni stole is made, for Instagram.
Check: Read each description for any word you did not give it. If it says “pure”, “finest” or “certified” and your notes do not, delete it — the claim is yours once it is posted.

Five quick replies you type every day
WhatsApp Business lets you save replies and send them with a “/”. Have AI write them once, in English and Hindi, for the questions you answer twenty times a week.
Write WhatsApp quick replies for my shop, in English and then in simple Hindi, each under 40 words: (1) timings and location, (2) do you ship and how long it takes, (3) how to pay, (4) how to check the piece is genuine, (5) a polite “thank you for visiting”. My details: [timings, area, shipping, payment methods]
Check: Every time, price and promise in these must be yours. Send each one to your own number first and read it on the phone.
- 3
Answer a review — the good and the bad
For a houseboat, hotel or shop, the reply to a review is read by every guest who comes next. Paste the review and ask for a calm, short answer.
A guest left this review of my houseboat on Google. Write a reply in under 80 words: thank them by name, answer the complaint honestly without arguing, say what we have changed, and invite them back. Do not offer refunds or discounts. [paste the review]
Check: Only promise what you have actually done. Never paste a guest’s phone number, booking details or ID into a chatbot.
In Kashmir
Your honesty is the brand — and now it can be scanned
- Eighteen J&K crafts carry a Geographical Indication — among them Kashmir Pashmina, Kani, Sozni, papier-mâché, walnut wood carving, Khatamband and the hand-knotted carpet.
- By March 2026 about 70,000 handmade pieces had been tested and given QR-code GI labels a buyer can scan with a phone. When AI writes your listing, say “GI-labelled” only for a piece that carries the label — and tell buyers how to scan it.
- Fake “Pashmina” sold online is a real problem for the craft. A plain, true description, a label and a photo of the making beat any clever wording.
- Most tourists come from the rest of India, so replies in Hindi as well as English help. AI’s Kashmiri is still poor — write Kashmiri yourself.
Keep the trust
AI writes the words. You stand behind every claim.
An AI makes copy sound good, and that is the risk: it adds “pure”, “finest quality” or “certified” because those words sell. Once it is on your page, it is your promise to the customer — and a false one can be an offence.
- Read every listing for claims you cannot prove: material, purity, origin, certification, “handmade”.
- Check payments in your bank or UPI app — never from a screenshot a customer sends. Screenshots are easy to fake, and AI makes them easier.
- Keep customers’ numbers, addresses and payment details out of chatbots.
The rules, in a line each
- Consumer Protection Act (2019) and the CCPA’s 2022 guidelines on misleading advertisements: a claim in an ad or a listing must be true and provable.
- Geographical Indications Act (1999): selling something as a GI product when it is not is an offence.

Examples to try, not recommendations. Where the data is sensitive, prefer the ones that keep it on your own computer.
