AmanahVale is an AI education platform for schools in Kashmir. Many of the people who use it are children, so we keep as little as we can, we never use it to sell or advertise anything, and we say plainly here what we keep and why. Questions: faizanayub16@gmail.com.

Reading the website

The library, the books and every public page can be read without an account. Reading them sets no cookies, and there are no analytics or advertising trackers on the site.

What we keep about students

Students never sign up themselves. Their teacher creates the account, after the school has collected a parent's consent; the teacher records that consent, and an account cannot be created without it.

  • Who they are: the name the teacher enters, a username, their class, and a 6-digit PIN for signing in. The PIN is never stored in a form anyone can read — not even us.
  • Their learning: which lessons they have finished, their quiz and practice answers, the steps they tick and the notes and predictions they write in book lessons, the weekly goal they set themselves, and the badges they earn.

We do not collect a student's email address, phone number, date of birth, home address or photo.

What we keep about teachers

  • Name, email address, school, and a password (stored only as a secure hash).
  • Their own training: lessons finished, quiz results, and seminar attendance.
  • The classes they set up, and the work they assign.

Who can see a student's work

  • Their own teacher sees which lessons they have finished, their quiz and practice answers and scores, and the badges they earn — for their own class only. Not other teachers, and not other schools.
  • A student's notes and predictions in book lessons, their streak and their weekly goal are private to them. Their teacher never sees these.
  • There are no leaderboards, and nothing compares one child with another. We do not build profiles of children, show them advertising, or sell or share anyone's data.

Services we use

The database and sign-in run on Supabase, and the website is hosted by Vercel. They store and serve the data for us and may not use it for anything else.

Some lessons play a video from YouTube or Vimeo. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode and Vimeo's do-not-track setting, and videos never start on their own — but when a video plays, that service sees the device playing it, as with any online video.

Cookies and saved pages

When you sign in, a sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. Nothing else is set.

On a phone, AmanahVale saves copies of the public library pages you open, so you can read them without internet. Pages behind a sign-in are never saved on the device — important on phones that a whole class shares.

Keeping it safe

Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS). Rules in the database itself decide who may read each row, so a teacher cannot reach another class even by mistake. Repeated wrong PINs are slowed down, and our records of failed sign-ins name nobody.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep an account's data while the account exists. Deleting an account removes the person and all of their learning records. A short note that an account was deleted — saying nothing about what was in it — stays in our administrative log.

How to delete an account

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and raise a complaint. A parent or guardian can do all of this for their child. Write to faizanayub16@gmail.com.

Changes

If we change what we keep or who can see it, we will update this page and the date at the top.
