Class 7 · Unit project
Unit 2 project: An AI helper for our school
Pick one real job in your school. Design an AI helper for it — what goes in, what comes out, which domain — and build a tiny piece that actually works.
The task
You've met all three domains: the register (data science), the kangri camera (computer vision) and the word counter (NLP). Today your group designs an AI helper for a real job in this school — and builds one small piece of it.
Work in groups of 3–4. One period. Everything in helper-<group>.ods.
Choose a job (3 min)
Pick one, or ask your teacher about your own idea. Things, not people:
- The lost-and-found box: what is this object, and where does it go?
- The library: which shelf does a returned book belong on?
- The notice board: which notices are about exams, sports or holidays?
- The school garden: how much water do the beds need this week?
Design it (12 min)
- Input → model → output. Draw the three boxes and fill them: what goes in, what comes out?
- Predict the domain before you check. Then use the main-input test: numbers → DS, images → CV, words → NLP. More than one? Say which.
- The data it needs. What examples would train it, and how many? Nothing about a person — no names, faces or marks.
Build one piece (15 min)
- Make one small part work, with a tool from this unit:
- DS: a table of 10 invented rows and one chart that shows a pattern
- CV: a Teachable Machine model with two classes of objects, tested on 3 new photos
- NLP: a notice split into words in Calc, with the top 5 words counted
- Test it once and write down what happened — including any mistake.
Your own line (5 min, alone)
Each person writes two sentences: how a person should check the helper's answers, and one thing it should never be trusted to do alone. Sign with your roll number. This part is marked for you alone.
Share (5 min)
Each group shows its three boxes and its working piece in one minute.
How it is marked
Each row is marked 0–3. Rows 1–5 are shared by the group; row 6 is yours alone. Marks are returned privately and never compared with anyone else's.
